In this role you will support the Technical Team by drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for construction and procurement projects, while advising on legal risks and business decisions. You will help develop contract templates, manage approvals, and coordinate with external advisers to ensure timely, compliant contracting across jurisdictions. The position requires global travel and close collaboration with finance, tax, compliance, and other functions. You will play a pivotal role in pre-dispute and dispute matters, contributing to the company’s complex commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Draft, review and interpret a wide variety of commercial contracts (construction, equipment procurement, consulting, IT) and related correspondence
Support negotiations across jurisdictions and assess legal risk of contracts
Provide pragmatic, business-minded legal advice on commercial contracting issues
Develop and maintain contract templates for commercial contracting
Support contract approval and document management processes
Advise on potential and materialized disputes and gather relevant facts
Collaborate with finance, tax, insurance, compliance and competition to safeguard interests in contracting
Coordinate use of outside legal advisers
Travel worldwide as needed

Key requirements

University degree in law
Admitted to the Bar with 5–12 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm (in-house experience is an advantage)
Outstanding knowledge of contract and commercial law; working knowledge of FIDIC contracts essential
Experience with public-private partnerships, public tenders and port concessions is advantageous
Knowledge of English law (UK qualification) is advantageous
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to provide proactive, innovative solutions and work independently under pressure
Excellent English-speaking and writing skills; other European languages are an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Willingness to travel internationally
Maritime and terminal sector experience advantageous
