In this role you help shape KNIME's legal, privacy, and information security posture as the bridge between legal operations and business goals. You will drive scalable processes, maintain and negotiate key agreements, and support governance across GDPR, ISO 27001 and SOC 2. You’ll translate regulatory requirements into practical actions for a global, open community environment. This is an opportunity to impact compliance at scale while enabling product and business teams to move faster.

Responsibilities

Review and maintain KNIME's standard legal agreements, including NDAs, DPAs, security annexes, and privacy provisions
Negotiate license agreements, purchasing agreements, and terms with customers, partners, and vendors
Support governance activities across information security, data protection, and regulatory compliance
Contribute to ISO 27001 / SOC 2 audit activities, including documentation, controls, and audit prep
Drive GDPR-related processes in collaboration with the Data Protection Officer
Advance legal operations through template standardization, documentation, and scalable workflows
Build knowledge management and automation to improve efficiency in Legal & Compliance workflows
Engage with EU AI Act topics and translate requirements into business-ready actions

Key requirements

Legally trained with business mindset
Interest in compliance and risk topics; willingness to develop hands-on experience with ISO 27001 and SOC2 over time
Experience or strong interest in modern Legal Operations, templates, scalable processes, and automation
Solid understanding of GDPR principles and privacy-related processes
Strong cross-functional collaboration, ownership of topics end-to-end
Confident English communication; German is a strong plus
Structured, pragmatic, and documentation-focused, balancing compliance with business needs
