As Lead Engineer Embedded Software at Lely, you head a diverse embedded software team focused on robotic cleaning and barn solutions. You will shape the technical roadmap and translate customer needs into scalable software, using TDD and quality-focused practices. You’ll coach engineers, foster collaboration, and drive agile improvements to deliver impactful solutions for sustainable farming. This role offers hands-on leadership in a global, innovative agro-tech environment with meaningful influence on animal welfare and farmer productivity.

Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary embedded software team through all product development stages
Coach and mentor team members for technical and personal growth
Translate customer needs into robust, scalable software using TDD
Oversee design, implementation, testing and maintenance of embedded software
Ensure high-quality code through reviews and comprehensive testing
Continuously improve Agile processes and team performance
Define and maintain the technical roadmap aligned with product and business goals

Key requirements

Bachelor in Computer Science
At least 2 years of leadership or managerial experience
Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python
Experience with embedded Linux systems
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and TDD
Familiarity with CAN and Ethernet protocols
Experience in multidisciplinary Agile Scrum teams
