As Lead AI Scientist you define and drive Soldo's AI roadmap, leading a cross-functional team to turn research into production-grade models. You will lead AI projects that power real-time spend analytics, risk prediction, and anomaly detection, collaborating with product, engineering, and finance experts. You’ll ensure governance, compliance, and ethical use of AI while delivering measurable business impact. This role offers strategic influence, hands-on innovation, and leadership in a fast-growing SaaS company.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute the company AI roadmap aligned with product and business strategy
- Grow, lead, mentor, and scale an AI team and multidisciplinary squad
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify high-impact AI initiatives
- Select tools, frameworks, and deployment strategies balancing business goals with feasibility
- Design and guide end-to-end AI projects including ML, DL, and generative models
- Prototype new AI tech for product and financial behaviour modelling
- Ensure model governance: explainability, fairness, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee production deployment with ML Ops practices
- Work with data engineering to build scalable data pipelines and quality datasets
- Monitor and iterate models for accuracy and impact, with drift detection and retraining pipelines
- Translate customer problems into AI solutions and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Represent AI function in strategic discussions and reviews
Key requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in a related field (minimum requirement)
- 5+ years in AI/ML research and development
- 2+ years in a leadership role
- Expertise in ML, NLP with LLMs, time-series forecasting, RAG, anomaly detection
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Vector DBs, LLMs
- Knowledge of data architecture, ML Ops, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Proven ability to design scalable AI architectures integrated with production systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
