In this role you will lead IT risk and control work for audits, acting as a technical resource for client and Assurance teams. You will guide teams through planning and execution, focusing on IT controls, risk assessment, and documentation. You’ll drive issue resolution, client communication, and the integration of technology into the audit process. Responsibilities
- Plan and perform IT risk and control work and supervise engagement teams
- Identify key risks, assess impact and likelihood, and test key controls across industries
- Document internal control systems and IT processes; ensure proper workpaper support
- Provide on-the-job training and review team workpapers and conclusions
- Communicate control improvements and process enhancements to clients
- Develop client relationships and ensure technology is integrated into processes
- Plan audits, oversee procedures, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Apply BDO audit methodology and prepare required communications
Key requirements
- Eight or more years of IT audit, information systems, and operational auditing experience
- Experience with general and application control reviews
- Experience with third-party attestation (SOC) reviews (preferred)
- Public accounting or internal auditing experience (preferred)
- CPA, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP and/or CFE certifications (required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication; excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and lead a team
