As Medical Lead - Cardiovascular, you will steer the regional medical strategy for a newly launched cardiovascular product and partner with cross-functional teams to support early-market success. You will serve as the product’s scientific expert across the region, shaping medical plans, lifecycle activities, and launch readiness. You’ll engage with international KOLs, societies, and patient groups, and lead strategic scientific projects with global relevance. This role combines strategic direction with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, enabling you to impact patient access and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead regional medical strategy aligned with the global brand plan
- Act as scientific expert for the product across the region
- Provide strategic medical input to regional brand plans and lifecycle management
- Organize and lead cardiovascular scientific meetings with affiliate medical teams
- Develop and implement international strategic scientific projects
- Define medical success metrics, KPIs, and prioritize launch activities across markets
- Integrate omnichannel medical communication and education strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with international KOLs, societies, and patient organizations
- Lead advisory boards, expert meetings, and scientific exchange activities
- Guide affiliates in medical launch readiness activities and oversee launch materials
- Collaborate with Global Medical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory teams for coordinated launch
- Share launch learnings and best practices across countries to accelerate success
- Support value dossier development with Market Access and regulatory input
- Provide medical oversight for real-world evidence and post-marketing studies
- Support publication strategy and review scientific materials
- Capture medical insights from the field to inform global/regional strategies
- Ensure compliance with internal standards, regulations, and EFPIA codes
- Review and approve medical aspects of promotional and non-promotional materials
- Assist pharmacovigilance and regulatory activities including safety signal evaluation
Key requirements
- 7+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech with cardiovascular focus and above-country roles
- Experience in successful above-market product launches
- Deep understanding of cardiovascular treatment landscape, guidelines, and payer expectations
