In this role you lead Spinraza’s international marketing strategy and execution for SMA, guiding cross-functional teams across Europe and beyond to drive brand growth. You’ll refine near-term and mid-term plans, co-create local materials with key markets, and ensure alignment with regional partners while delivering above-market initiatives. You’ll engage affiliates, manage complex campaigns, and coach the marketing team to sustain differentiated messaging and impact. This is a hands-on leadership role at a pioneering biopharma company with a global scope.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Spinraza marketing plan from insight to action, and develop concepts aligned with annual tactics including face-to-face, digital, and congresses/events
  • Create and manage project plans with milestones, budgets, and resource alignment for efficient execution
  • Collaborate with creative agencies and internal teams to develop branded and unbranded assets
  • Conduct PRC reviews for above-market materials and implement internal comms plans for deployment
  • Attend congresses and engage in local customer-facing activities to gain market insights
  • Lead the International Therapeutic Area Forums (ITAF) to share strategy, outputs, and affiliate needs
  • Foster cross-market best practice exchange and coach affiliates for efficiencies
  • Drive execution excellence and coach junior marketers to ensure consistent branding and messaging across initiatives
  • Develop the marketing tactical plan guided by ICP and AOP during annual planning process
  • Coordinate matrixed, geographically dispersed teams to deliver on strategy

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's/Advanced Degree required
  • 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology, rare disease preferred
  • Global/Regional commercial launch experience and business operations
  • Proven ability to build cross-functional brand plans supporting positioning and messaging
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills with problem-solving mindset
  • Sales experience or high customer interaction valued; pipeline or commercial development experience welcomed
  • Ability to prioritize, align strategic/tactical plans, and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Strong planning, organization, analytics, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior management
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and engage stakeholders at all levels
