In this ISSO role, you will safeguard government systems by assessing and enhancing security configurations across development and operations. You’ll coordinate with in-house teams, subcontractors, and vendors to align IT needs with secure, mission-focused solutions. You’ll explore new techniques to replace legacy approaches, lead network design discussions, and present risk and mitigation plans to clients. You’ll guide customers through action plans and translate security concepts into clear decisions, leveraging cloud technologies to protect critical information systems.

Responsibilities

Assess and document security configurations of systems and tools; recommend improvements
Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to select appropriate security tools and approaches
Investigate new security techniques and alternatives to legacy models
Lead network design decisions balancing security and mission needs
Advise clients on cyber risks, policies, and mitigation plans
Oversee analysis of technical, environmental, and personnel details to assess threat landscape
Guide clients through plans of action using presentations, white papers, and milestones
Translate security concepts for client decision-making and secure mission-critical systems
Provide leadership in information security and share cloud security expertise with clients and team
Support DoD and government security initiatives to protect information systems

Key requirements

3+ years of ISSO or Information System Security Analyst experience
Experience with tools assessments and configuration analysis against best practices and government guidelines
Experience implementing security controls (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, ICD 503, RMF, DoD Information Levels) and supporting ATO processes
Experience with eMASS or Xacta IA Manager
Ability to perform risk analysis
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph
Education/Experience combinations including HS diploma with 12+ years, Associate with 10+, Bachelor with 8+, or Master with 6+ years in IT projects

Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment Strong presentation and stakeholder management STIGs, STIG Viewer, SCAP, ACAS scanning tool Ansible, Terraform Splunk
