In this role you will lead the Medical Affairs strategy for the Immunology portfolio in Italy, aligning medical plans with cross‑functional execution and external engagement. You drive scientific leadership, ensure compliant delivery of medical activities, and shape patient value through strategic collaboration with EU/Global teams. You will oversee medical strategy deployment, RWE studies, education and publications, and governance across the territory. This role offers influence across launches and ongoing medical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the medical strategy for the Immunology portfolio in Italy as part of the broader launch and value strategy
  • Lead the development and delivery of Medical Affairs Plans (MAP) and associated tactical objectives
  • Oversee RWE studies, medical education initiatives, publication plans and quality of care programs
  • Drive strategic engagement with national/regional key scientific leaders, regulators, payers and patient groups
  • Provide expert medical guidance to cross-functional teams and support external engagement with EU/Global partners
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies; govern medical activities and sign‑off processes
  • Mentor and lead Medical Leads, MSLs and the iPVU medical team; foster ethical, credible Medical Affairs image
  • Collaborate with PVU, Market Access and External Engagement groups to manage product lifecycle and launches
  • Contribute to global R&D with patient unmet needs insights and ensure alignment with external medical standards
  • Manage area data dissemination and publication processes with Evidence Generation and Publications teams

Key requirements

  • MD with substantial Medical Affairs experience in pharma
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)
  • Proven track record in EU medical and clinical strategy development and cross‑functional planning
  • Strong external relationships with scientific leaders, regulatory bodies, payers and patient groups
  • Governance experience and ability to implement compliant medical activities
  • Leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor an international team
  • Solid understanding of clinical development, study management and real‑world evidence
  • Ability to manage budgets, KPIs and performance reporting
  • Strong negotiation, influence and conflict resolution skills
