In this role you design, deploy, and manage large-scale Windows Server and hybrid IT environments to support dispersed government sites. You work within IT Infrastructure and Operations, aligning deployments with security and SCAP compliance while enabling cloud and on-premises workloads. You collaborate across teams to translate requirements into design and installation plans, delivering operations and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Design and define system architecture for on-premises and cloud hosting solutions
- Develop system requirements specifications and design plans from requirements
- Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems
- Review completed enhancements and advise on improvements
- Plan and direct upgrades to Windows Server infrastructure including AD, DNS, LDAP, and Group Policy
- Implement and manage authentication services, domains, trusts, and access controls
- Monitor Microsoft systems and manage deployments using Microsoft tooling
- Support multi-domain, multi-site environments and ensure security/compliance
Key requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory design and implementation
- Experience with Group Policy Management
- Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP
- Experience with LDAP
- Experience with Active Directory Federation Services
- Experience with Active Directory Domains and Trusts
- Experience with System Center Operations Manager
- Experience with Microsoft deployment methods (MDT, SCCM)
- Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019
- Experience with Microsoft Identity Manager/Forefront Identity Manager (optimal)
- PowerShell or other scripting for Windows Server automation
- Experience with AWS and Vmware environments
- Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow
- System hardening per DISA STIGs
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent for IAT Level II DoD 8570/8140
