In this role, you will lead medical initiatives for the I-CoE across Europe and the BIR regions, shaping the medical strategy for SMA. You’ll partner with affiliates and cross-functional teams to co-create content and align the TA narrative with the overall strategy. You will drive pre-launch, launch, and integrated customer planning, translating data and real-world evidence into actionable medical insights. This position offers a strategic leadership opportunity to advance SMA understanding at scale while ensuring ethical, compliant execution and regional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the I-CoE Medical Plan across pre-launch, launch, and integrated customer planning
Implement medical initiatives on time and within budget
Assess effectiveness and value of medical initiatives and propose improvements
Collaborate with affiliates to co-create regionally aligned content
Ensure consistent scientific narratives across cross-functional partners
Analyze clinical data and real-world evidence to enrich the TA narrative
Identify data gaps in Region Europe and BIR markets
Lead evolution of the TA scientific narrative with new data and insights
Provide scientific and medical leadership to deepen SMA understanding

Key requirements

MD/PhD or science degree
Ideally 3+ years in a medical role within rare diseases
Experience across multiple regions/countries at affiliate and above-market levels
Strong communication and presentation skills
Collaborative and cross-functional mindset
Cultural awareness and interpersonal sensitivity
Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to optimize scarce resources and model compliant behavior
Strategic planning and execution across markets
Experience liaising with senior leadership
Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
Strategic mindset with skill in identifying gaps and proposing solutions
Proven ability to lead internal and external teams
