As an HV Test Engineer, you will lead electrical testing of cables during production and before handover, ensuring quality and compliance. You will guide HV lab testing, develop test plans and reports, and support development projects. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to optimize test methods, equipment, and documentation. This role offers impact by safeguarding performance of XLPE-insulated cables and driving continuous laboratory improvements.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for high voltage laboratory testing on assigned cable projects and coordinate with customer representatives
- Provide expert technical support to HV laboratory personnel and determine testing parameters
- Arrange rental equipment and coordinate maintenance to ensure reliable testing
- Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and standardized methods
- Lead project start-up meetings and supervise test execution
- Prepare and issue reports for development samples and manage internal technical documentation
- Troubleshoot cable-related issues in the factory and operate HV testing equipment as needed
- Support continuous improvement of laboratory and engineering processes, including standardization of procedures and workflows
- Contribute to training programs for laboratory staff and participate in relevant working groups
- Apply measurement accuracy principles, and communicate results using rigorous scientific/engineering methods
- Lead initiatives to improve efficiency and competitiveness in testing fields
- Travel to customer locations and Nexans facilities as needed
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical testing within a manufacturing environment
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to travel globally to customer locations, conferences, and Nexans facilities
- Knowledge of high voltage standards and regulatory considerations
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and collaboration skills
