Senior Specialist / Project Manager

This Home Developer role supports Buckner’s Foster Care and Adoption Program by recruiting and developing foster families and coordinating licensing and ongoing support. You will build community awareness, screen and prepare families, and ensure compliance with licensing standards. You work closely with field staff to match resources with children’s needs and strengthen foster parent relationships. The position offers the chance to impact families and communities through structured recruitment, training, and service delivery.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement recruitment of foster parents for the Foster Care program
Recruit foster homes via letters, ads, and presentations; handle inquiries from potential families
Public relations tasks to educate the community about resource needs in the region
Complete licensing, assessment, and support processes to ensure compliance with Licensing Standards
Maintain supportive relationships with foster care resources and coordinate training and support needs
Coordinate visits and transportation for family visits and necessary appointments
Assist foster parents with age-appropriate activities and therapeutic leisure activities
Consult with TDFPS on resource selection and needed support services
Participate in regional needs assessment to identify local foster/adoptive care needs
Provide and maintain reports, statistics, and documentation of activities

Key requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Extensive knowledge of modern methods and techniques for specialized training programs
Working knowledge of administering training programs and social work literature
Understanding of social and economic problems affecting communities and access to resources
Ability to drive assigned or personal vehicle with valid license and insurance
Must be 21 or older to drive for Buckner
Physical ability to move objects/people (up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs continuously)
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods
