In this HSE Manager role, you will lead Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Asset Conservation at the Royal Canin site. You’ll influence culture, drive continuous improvement, and partner with the Site Leadership Team to protect people, assets, and the planet. The position blends technical HSE expertise with change leadership to embed a safety-first mindset across manufacturing operations. You’ll engage regulatory bodies and lead cross-functional initiatives that align with Mars’ Five Principles and sustainability goals. Responsibilities

Develop and execute site HSE, security, and sustainability strategies with ambitious targets
Coach and empower the HSE team and influence all site staff to embrace safety culture
Lead cultural transformation by integrating HSE into operational decisions and governance
Chair Safety & Environmental Committees and management safety meetings
Ensure compliance with ISO 14001/45001 and legal requirements including EU ETS
Oversee emergency response, business continuity, and asset conservation policies
Investigate incidents, near misses, and security events; drive corrective actions
Lead Plant Emergency Team, Security Team, and fire brigade readiness
Monitor and report HSE metrics; advise leadership on environmental, energy, safety, and security matters
Represent the site in European and global forums to share best practices

Key requirements

Proven leadership in Health, Safety, Environment or Security within manufacturing or supply environments
Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and relevant legislation
Track record of cultural change, continuous improvement, and behavioral safety initiatives
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management
Leadership qualities: vision, integrity, results, conflict resolution, prioritization
