As Global Commodity Leader for Raw Materials in Milan, you will shape and execute the global commodity strategy, aligning regional teams and stakeholders. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage the supply base, and drive cross-functional initiatives with Operations, R&D, and Sales to maximize value. You’ll analyze market dynamics, support budgeting and price forecasting, and collaborate with R&D on qualification and innovation programs. This role offers impact across global procurement and the energy-transition agenda at Prysmian.

Responsibilities

Define and implement global commodity strategy with regional alignment
Negotiate supplier agreements and manage global framework contracts
Lead regional/local commodity initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders
Govern supply base performance (service level, quality, risk, compliance) and supplier development
Coordinate regional sourcing guidelines and capture synergies
Develop market insights and support budgeting/price evolution analysis
Collaborate with R&D on qualification programs and Design-To-Cost initiatives
Support local teams in resolving supply challenges to plants

Key requirements

7/8 years of experience as a commodity buyer in multinational, matrix organizations
Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
Knowledge of plastics, metals, or chemicals and contracts
Proficient in data analytics
Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and travel willingness
