In this role, you lead the geotechnical group to deliver on-time, client-focused projects while upholding Terracon’s standards. You will supervise project execution, billing, safety, and quality, and drive staff development and business growth. You’ll shape the annual plan for the specialty service group and manage risk, profitability, and client relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role at a growing, employee-owned firm with strong collaboration and opportunity to impact subsurface solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates for clients
  • Lead staffing plans and onboarding with Department/Office Manager
  • Develop and execute the annual business plan for the specialty service group
  • Monitor key metrics: revenue growth, billings, collections, and profitability
  • Oversee safety leadership, pre-task planning, and safe work environment
  • Ensure quality standards across project delivery and proposals
  • Identify project-related risks and ensure adherence to risk policies
  • Support and participate in business development and client relationship activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology) or 9 years' related experience
  • Valid driver's license (may be required)
  • Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred
  • Certification or licensure in field of expertise preferred
