Experteer Overview
In this role, you apply Generative AI to design novel polymer structures and predict their properties, advancing bio-inspired polymers. You will integrate simulated and experimental data to enhance predictive AI capabilities and work with cross-functional teams across Computational Chemistry, Materials Simulation, and Data Science. You’ll communicate complex AI concepts to non-experts and help establish new collaborations. This is an opportunity to shape sustainable materials at Covestro and help accelerate research in Digital R&D.

Responsibilities
- Develop Generative AI methods to design novel polymer structures and predict properties for inverse design of bio-inspired polymers
- Integrate simulated material data and experimental results into AI frameworks to improve predictive capabilities
- Collaborate with simulation experts, data scientists, and experimental teams to advance digital R&D workflows
- Translate complex AI concepts for non-specialists
- Identify new technologies and potential research partners and foster collaborations
Key requirements
- PhD in physics, chemistry, computer science or related field
- Proven experience with generative AI models in materials (publications, code repositories, or projects)
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with AI frameworks
- Experience in interdisciplinary teams; exposure to Computational Chemistry and Cheminformatics is a plus
- Fluent English in speaking and writing
