Experteer Overview
In this role you will apply professional engineering knowledge to plan, design, and manage facility programs for Air Force installations. You will collaborate with managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to approve projects and oversee construction, renovation, and maintenance of real property. The position involves multi-discipline engineering work, program development, and coordination across bases, with opportunities to influence critical infrastructure. This role offers impact through shaping installation facilities and managing complex projects at scale.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering authorities to develop and gain approval for facility programs/projects
- Perform work in construction management, program/base development, and operations and maintenance functions
- Evaluate and recommend programs and development plans for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities including utility systems
- Utilize professional engineering knowledge to address multi-discipline project needs
- Support contract and project management activities, including design reviews and oversight of construction plans and schedules
Key requirements
- Bachelor-level education in engineering or equivalent combination of education/experience fulfilling basic professional engineering standards
- Specialized experience at GS-11 or higher level depending on grade, including applying engineering principles and determining project requirements
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, project management, and contracting principles
- Ability to prepare design concepts and communicate through CAD/GIS and scheduling tools
- Familiarity with test planning, budgeting, and program management processes
