As a Field Support Engineer in Basel, you will deliver high-quality technical support for Gogo’s aviation connectivity systems, both on-site and remotely. You collaborate with Sales and cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous service improvement. You’ll troubleshoot complex connectivity issues, train customers, and contribute to product sustainment and documentation. This role offers hands-on impact in a dynamic aviation environment, with opportunities to influence service quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Provide telephone and onsite technical support for Gogo Business Aviation and Satcom Direct systems
Troubleshoot complex issues related to connectivity, installations, and aircraft compatibility
Collaborate with Customer Support, Aircraft Application Engineers, and Technical Support to resolve escalated cases
Conduct Entry into Service (EIS) training for customers and dealers
Support regression testing and verify software/hardware fixes
Perform root cause investigations and document findings with recommendations
Assist with reviewing and preparing technical documentation (manuals, installation guides)
Adhere to case management standards for data collection and resolution
Represent the company at trade shows, workshops, and customer meetings
Support sales team with customer demonstrations and technical expertise
Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting aviation connectivity systems

Key requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aviation, or related field OR equivalent military technical training
5+ years in the aviation industry
4+ years in product support for satcom, aviation connectivity, telecoms, or internet services
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally
Located within commutable distance to Basel, Switzerland and eligible to work in the country

strong customer service orientation excellent problem-solving abilities ability to work independently and in remote locations Strong understanding of networking and satellite communication systems (L-Band, Ku/Ka-band, VSAT, Inmarsat/Iridium)Experience with IP-based systems (routers, switches, telephony networks)Knowledge of VHF communication systems and data transmission
