In this role you will commission, test, and troubleshoot power distribution and protection systems on site across diverse industrial environments. You will travel extensively to customer sites in Northern Virginia, supporting greenfield and brownfield projects and ensuring safe, reliable system performance. You’ll work with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver hands-on field services, training, and technical consulting. This opportunity lets you shape, install, and validate critical electrical infrastructure at scale while advancing Siemens Electrification Automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, and start up low- to medium-voltage power distribution equipment (approximately 480V-38kV) including switchgear and breakers
  • Perform hands-on commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control relays (e.g., SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC)
  • Use test equipment and software (Omicron, Doble, relay configuration and protection software) to validate system performance
  • Support greenfield and brownfield projects through commissioning, maintenance, emergency response, and corrective troubleshooting
  • Analyze test results, assess equipment condition, and document findings in field reports
  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support, training, and consulting
  • Travel extensively to job sites across the U.S. to support field execution and project demands

Key requirements

  • 4+ years of field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems
  • Experience with protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and related configuration software
  • Experience with relay testing equipment such as Omicron and/or Doble test sets
  • Knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and electrical control circuits
  • Ability to interpret test data, assess equipment condition, and produce technical documentation
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to ~80% domestically
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship
