In this role you lead the Office of Student Financial Aid, guiding data integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance to support student success. You collaborate with Enrollment Optimization and campus partners to align aid operations with institutional strategies and drive meaningful impact. You oversee system usage (Ellucian Banner) and the day-to-day administration of federal, state, and institutional aid, shaping initiatives and leading a capable team. This is a transformative leadership position focused on performance, learning culture, and cross-department coordination to enhance the student experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for financial aid and scholarship operations with substantial independent decision-making
- Oversee data accuracy, system utilization (Ellucian Banner), and regulatory compliance for federal, state, and institutional aid
- Plan and execute key initiatives and major projects within the office
- Manage day-to-day administration of aid programs and ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Foster cross-department coordination to support student success and institutional policies
- Promote staff development, training, and performance improvement across the team
- Collaborate with the AVP and campus partners to align enrollment strategies with university goals
Key requirements
- Master's degree
- At least five years of financial aid experience
- At least three years of supervising professional staff
- Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and ability to apply them
- Experience with non-standard academic calendars in aid administration
- Strong leadership, coaching, and inclusive team development skills
- Strategic and operational planning capabilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with advanced financial aid administration systems (Ellucian Banner) and annual cycle launches
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
