In this role you lead complex, high-stakes employee relations investigations, shaping outcomes in alignment with policies and law. You will partner with HR, Employment Law, and business leaders to assess risk and drive consistent resolutions. You handle a high-volume caseload with confidentiality and precision, translating findings into clear guidance and recommendations. You contribute to a culture of integrity by improving processes and training to mitigate risk. Responsibilities
- Lead timely, objective investigations of employee relations concerns (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, code of conduct issues).
- Develop investigation plans, identify witnesses/documents, interview effectively, and determine appropriate next steps.
- Prepare clear case documentation: interview notes, findings, and recommendations to support investigations.
- Assess risk, determine escalation needs, and recommend resolutions in consultation with HR, Employment Law, and stakeholders.
- Manage a high-volume caseload with attention to confidentiality, timeliness, and process consistency.
- Collaborate with HR Partners, Employment Law, business leaders, and control functions to address issues and ensure consistent outcomes.
- Analyze case data and trends to identify themes and opportunities for intervention or process improvement.
Key requirements
- Extensive experience conducting complex workplace investigations (discrimination, harassment, retaliation, sensitive issues).
- Ability to evaluate facts, assess risk, and make balanced, policy-based recommendations.
- Excellent written communication for clear, well-supported investigation summaries and findings.
- Strong verbal communication and interviewing skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple investigations and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, discretion, and tact in handling confidential matters.
- Collaborative, consultative approach with the ability to build relationships across HR, Legal, and management.
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws, HR policies, investigation practices, and risk considerations.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in employee relations, investigations, or related field; experience in a large, matrixed organization preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree; JD or employment law experience strongly preferred.
