In this role you will set and execute the strategic direction for Chubb's Climate+ and Energy Industry Practices, aligning with enterprise priorities to drive profitable growth and underwriting discipline. You will lead market-facing initiatives and collaborate with senior stakeholders across underwriting, actuarial, and product teams to shape strategy, pricing, and portfolio health. The position requires broad industry expertise, external relationship management, and cross-functional leadership to achieve market leadership in a complex, matrixed environment. This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise underwriting objectives and travel across North America to advance business.

Responsibilities

Set the strategic direction for the Industry Practice with aligned business plans
Own performance of the Industry Practice including underwriting strategy, profitability, and portfolio health
Establish short- and long-term goals and forecast assumptions to drive revenue growth
Lead market-facing efforts: broker/agency engagement, client presentations, trade shows
Refine policy usage, underwriting approaches, and ensure compliance with corporate standards
Monitor performance, manage costs, and maintain underwriting integrity across the portfolio
Develop pricing and positioning strategies to sustain profitable growth
Make sound account-level decisions balancing growth, risk, and profitability
Collaborate with Regional Managers, Underwriting Specialists, and Executive/Field Underwriters for consistent execution
Engage with industry practice leaders, LOB partners, GC, actuarial, and data analytics to inform strategy
Represent the Industry Practice externally and internally as a senior leader with travel as needed

Key requirements

Deep experience in commercial property and casualty insurance with underwriting strategy, portfolio management, pricing, and profitability
Proven track record leading industry practice or LOB initiatives in a large matrixed insurer
Experience working with senior underwriting leaders, product managers, actuaries, claims, legal, data analytics, and field distribution partners
Experience developing and executing business plans balancing growth, retention, underwriting discipline, and profitability
Proven success in market-facing leadership including broker/agency engagement and client presentations
Experience influencing policy, pricing, and portfolio decisions to support enterprise underwriting objectives
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 15 years of commercial underwriting experience
Strong knowledge of the energy industry and related exposures
