In this role, you will lead the European Works Council governance and labor relations across multiple EU jurisdictions, ensuring compliant communication and proactive employee engagement. You will partner with senior leadership, HR, and legal teams to harmonise practices, manage transnational projects, and mitigate compliance risk, shaping a stable, collaborative workplace culture. The position offers strategic influence across borders and direct impact on organisational resilience and employee advocacy. This is an opportunity to drive responsible, cross-country employee relations at a leading dermatology company.

Responsibilities

  • EWC governance and compliance: liaison between leadership and EWC, enable open communication and mutual trust
  • Timely information/consultation on transnational projects (restructuring, mergers, site closures, major investments)
  • Lead EWC Charter negotiations and harmonisation of practices
  • Organise plenary and extraordinary EWC meetings, ensure inclusive elections and participation
  • Coordinate translation, training, and cost coverage for EWC activities
  • Develop and implement strategies for collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and EU labour law compliance
  • Advise leadership on labour agreements and risk implications
  • Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Business Leaders for cross-border coordination
  • Negotiate with unions and works councils to achieve outcomes and protect employer reputation
  • Engage senior management and stakeholders to foster buy-in and effective EWC processes
  • Monitor legislative changes and manage non-compliance risks with timely updates

Key requirements

  • Advanced degree in HR, Law, Labour & Industrial Relations, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in labour relations and employee engagement in multinational environments
  • Proven track record managing European Works Council or similar transnational forums
  • Strong knowledge of EU labour directives and local employment laws
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages preferred
