In this role you lead the Booking squad to deliver a scalable, reliable, best-in-class booking experience across carpool, bus, and train reservations. You’ll partner with Product, Design, and Data to define the vision, roadmap, and measurable impact. You’ll guide a cross-functional team to balance performance, quality, and delivery across multiple transport modes. This is a hands-on leadership role shaping the future of how users book trips with BlaBlaCar.

Responsibilities

Act as engineering advisor to Product Manager and stakeholders and contribute to squad objectives and long-term roadmap
Lead planning and delivery of complex, cross-team projects ensuring performance, stability, and scalability
Collaborate with OTA, Bus, Train, and Carpool PMs to prioritize work aligned with business goals and report progress
Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers through feedback and career growth
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging modern tools (e.g., AI-driven acceleration) to maintain high productivity and quality

Key requirements

Management experience with proven people leadership
Experience building reliable, scalable, consumer-facing products across backend (Java, Spring) and frontend (Kotlin, Swift, React, TypeScript)
Strong English communication and ability to bridge technical constraints with business/compliance needs
Track record of delivering in high-stakes environments with prioritization of value
Agile methodologies experience (Scrum or Kanban)
