As Electronic Architect, you define and safeguard the electronic architecture behind Lely’s robotic platforms, enabling scalable and reliable automated milking, feeding, and autonomous robots. You collaborate with Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, Mechanical, and Vision & Sensor teams to integrate electronic solutions into the robotic landscape. You influence the technology roadmap to enable reuse and future innovation. This role blends system-level thinking with hands-on design to shape resilient, future-proof products.

Responsibilities
- Define and develop electronic architecture for robotic platforms and sensor/vision systems
- Translate system requirements into electronic concepts, modules, and interface definitions
- Evaluate trade-offs between performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability
- Guide development teams on technical design decisions and review hardware designs
- Promote standardization and reuse of electronic components and platform concepts
- Support integration and verification testing plans to ensure reliable real-world performance
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in electronic system design or hardware architecture
- Broad knowledge of electronic systems (embedded hardware, interfaces, sensors, power electronics)
- Ability to translate system requirements into architectural decisions
- Structured, analytical working style with strong communication skills
- Experience with EMC/EMI, reliability engineering, safety, or hardware validation is a plus
