In this role you will design and evaluate high voltage power supplies and related circuits to support Spellman’s mission of powering progress in critical technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate designs, create documentation, and help bring prototypes into manufacturing. You’ll tackle design challenges in SMPS topologies and HV applications, shaping reliable solutions for demanding use cases. This is an on-site, hands-on role in Hauppauge, NY with impact on product development and production readiness.

Responsibilities
- Design, modify and evaluate high voltage power supply circuitry and components
- Analyze data and conduct feasibility studies for designs
- Participate in technical design reviews within the NPI process
- Test and characterize equipment to establish operating data
- Prepare technical documentation for manuals
- Ensure prototype models meet design specifications and support manufacturing of new products
Key requirements
- BSEE or higher education
- 5+ years designing switch-mode power supplies
- Hands-on design verification and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with high voltage power supplies (10kV+) is a plus
- Strong understanding of converter topologies
- Solid analog circuit knowledge
- Familiarity with soft switching techniques
- Experience with schematics capture and PCB layout
- Familiarity with digital electronics
