In this role you will lead plant-wide safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance efforts to minimize workplace risk and maintain compliant operations. You will be the primary safety and environmental contact, coordinating reporting, training, and monitoring to support a safe, efficient manufacturing environment. You will collaborate across functions to sustain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations, driving continuous improvement. This position offers meaningful impact by shaping a proactive safety culture and robust environmental programs. You will work in a hands-on, compliance-focused environment that values accuracy and cross-functional teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for OSHA, EPA, APCD, MSD, hazardous waste, storm water, Tier II, and TRI/Form R activities
- Maintain and update safety rules, EHS manuals, incident logs, and compliance documentation
- Lead or participate in plant safety and housekeeping audits
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs including PIT, LOTO, hearing conservation, hazardous waste, and spill response
- Create machine postings and training materials for lockout/tagout procedures
- Coordinate noise surveys, air quality monitoring, monthly sampling, and semi-annual testing/reporting
- Manage environmental reporting including TAP usage, VOC monitoring, visible stack monitoring, emissions, and air emissions reporting
- Support Title V permitting requirements
- Oversee discharge permit coordination, monthly reporting, and semi-annual sampling
- Maintain waste profiles and coordinate hazardous waste handling, manifests, and inspection documentation
- Track APCD-related fees and charges
- Support spill documentation, special waste activities, and ongoing environmental compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to promote safety and compliance culture
- Uphold the company's mission, quality standards, and operational goals
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Engineering or 5+ years in EHS regulations and responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance in manufacturing
- Experience with safety training, audits, incident tracking, and compliance reporting
- Familiarity with hazardous waste handling, emissions reporting, storm water, and permitting
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with employees at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
