In this role you lead division inventory and production activities to align with sales forecasts and plant production needs. You will balance strategic, tactical, and operational planning in a lean environment, working across functions to optimize resources and schedules. You’ll shape master production schedules and drive improvements in inventory and process efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership position with a clear impact on on-time delivery and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage division inventory records, tracking, and stocking levels; collaborate with procurement for timely material delivery
  • Develop and implement an aggressive inventory reduction program to minimize excess costs
  • Analyze production requirements from sales orders and forecasts to optimize resources across single or multi-plant facilities
  • Prepare master schedule with weekly, monthly, or longer horizons to define sequences and lead times
  • Resolve master schedule conflicts due to variances (priorities, changes, shortages, scrap, labor, machine availability)
  • Oversee monthly sales and operations planning for the division
  • Produce detailed reports on current activity and process improvement opportunities

Key requirements

  • 5-7 years experience in inventory and production control
  • 4 year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management
  • Analytical and technical skills to evaluate business practices and automation opportunities
  • Advanced computer skills and understanding of electronic processing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for internal and external interfaces
  • Innovator with a LEAN mindset and ability to apply lean principles
