In this role you will support the Director of Inventory Optimization on strategic projects to reduce DC inventory and optimize SKU coverage. You will work with cross-functional partners to translate plans into capacity models, maintain rationalization data, and manage inventory optimization lists. You will develop insights from data, automate reporting, and present findings to leadership to influence decision making. You will leverage analytics to drive improvements in reporting, tools, and processes, while contributing to a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Support projects related to DC capacity, SKU rationalization, and overall inventory optimization
Convert corporate OTB plans into DC capacity models and update forecasting
Update SKU rationalization models with rolling weekly data
Create, communicate, and monitor inventory optimization lists (DC Scrap, Chip & Dent transfers, excess inventory, mismatched furniture components)
Improve reporting, tools, and business processes
Execute data analyses, develop conclusions, and present recommendations
Drive strategic projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Summarize large data sets to enable leadership decision making
Identify reporting gaps and develop automated reporting tools
Analyze industry best practices and perform competitive research to influence long-term strategy
Perform ad-hoc analyses to support leadership decisions

Key requirements

2–4 years’ experience in Business Strategy, Company Planning, Financial Analysis or Merchandising/Inventory Planning
Mastery in Excel; strong proficiency in SQL data mining (preferred)
Experience with MicroStrategy Developer/Architect and dashboard/dossier creation (strong plus)
Ability to meet deadlines, resolve conflicts, and deliver solid outcomes
Curiosity, analytical problem-solving, and resourcefulness
Fast learner who improves team performance
Flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
Strong verbal and written communication for non-technical presentations
Attention to detail and self-management
