In this role you will serve as the primary legal advisor to the UKI affiliate during the launch and ongoing commercialization of its first oncology product. You will partner with UKI and European leadership to shape legal strategy, manage risk, and enable commercial objectives across sales, market access, compliance, contracting, and external engagement. You will operate in a fast-paced launch environment, balancing regulatory requirements with business needs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive a successful market introduction in the UK and Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the General Manager, UKI and local Leadership Team
- Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice to support commercial decision-making and business strategy
- Identify legal risks and opportunities as a trusted member of the UKI leadership team
- Support the launch and commercialization of the oncology portfolio in the UK and Ireland
- Advise on commercial operations across Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs and Finance
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with consultants, vendors, and partners
- Support third-party due diligence, collaboration governance and partner relationship management
- Lead legal support for pricing, reimbursement, tenders, and market access initiatives
- Draft and negotiate rebate and market access agreements and evaluate impact of reimbursement policies
- Advise on UK, Irish and European competition law issues and healthcare compliance
- Counsel on engagements with healthcare professionals and related transfers of value
- Partner with Compliance to ensure adherence to industry codes and policies
- Manage litigation and coordinate with external counsel
- Provide regulatory and local legal support for commercial operations
- Coordinate with Global Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and other functions
- Develop and deliver legal training to the UKI affiliate
- Select, instruct and manage external counsel and oversee litigation budgets
Key requirements
- J.D. or equivalent with bar admission in at least one jurisdiction
- 10+ years in-house or law firm experience in life sciences
- Strong knowledge of UK and Irish pharmaceutical law, competition law, healthcare compliance, and promotional regulations
- Experience advising on market access, reimbursement or healthcare contracting
- Ability to advise senior leaders in a highly regulated setting
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Travel up to 10–20% within UKI and internationally
