In this role you lead the campus Student Financial Services team to ensure compliant, timely financial aid disbursement and excellent student-facing service. You drive alignment with Federal, State, and accrediting guidelines while shaping financial aid strategy at the campus. You will mentor staff, manage budgets, and partner with other departments to support student enrollment and success. Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Student Financial Services team (1-5 staff) and oversee daily operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and institutional policies; administer Title IV programs
Coordinate training, hiring, performance management, and staff development; handle recruitment and discipline as needed
Oversee timely disbursement of financial aid and accurate funding reviews; provide customer-focused advising to students and parents
Monitor data entry, reporting, and reconciliation of financial aid funds; manage accounts receivable and bad debt strategies
Maintain required federal/state certifications and ensure employment eligibility; support loan counseling as needed
Prepare and manage the department budget; oversee reporting and quality control activities
Liaise with external agencies (US DOE, lenders, guarantors) and internal stakeholders to streamline enrollment and aid processes
Support and optimize enrollment processes through interdepartmental collaboration
Ensure compliance and accurate funding across all aid programs

Key requirements

Associate's degree (or comparable work experience) required
5+ years in a college/university financial aid department with Title IV responsibility
3+ years of management/leadership experience
Strong knowledge of Federal & State loan and grant programs; work-study and campus-based funding experience
Experience with Return to Title IV calculations
Proven ability to build cross-department relationships and influence stakeholders
Computers: Microsoft Office Suite; strong data management and reporting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; detail-oriented problem solver
Background in budgeting and accounting preferred
Must obtain Title IV program authorization certificate and not be debarred or default on Title IV loans
