As Director of Sensor Research, you lead a multidisciplinary biosensing team to advance next-generation sensing technologies and guide long-term roadmaps. You will mentor sensor scientists and engineers, coordinate with R&D, and ensure rigorous scientific methods across in-vitro and in-vivo paradigms. This on-site role in San Diego includes travel to support cross-functional initiatives and industry engagement. You shape strategy, drive impactful sensor innovations, and represent the team with integrity.

Responsibilities

Lead sensor technology innovation and strategic initiatives aligned with product goals
Define and execute sensor technology roadmaps across in-vitro and in-vivo paradigms
Provide technical leadership on biomarker measurement in interstitial fluid
Manage and develop a high-performing team of sensor scientists and engineers
Oversee daily operations including resource planning, budgeting, and prioritization
Communicate complex scientific concepts to stakeholders and role-model leadership

Key requirements

Proven experience leading scientific teams in biosensing or related fields (electrochemical, voltametric, potentiometric)
Deep expertise in sensor development, fabrication, measurement techniques, and medical device integration
Track record of creating and executing technology roadmaps from concept to product
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate teams and manage priorities
Excellent communication skills for presenting data and strategies
Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of industry experience, including at least 9 years in a managerial role
