Experteer Overview
As Director of Privacy Program, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Privacy Assurance Program across the WMC Health Network. You will collaborate with the DCPO to execute privacy initiatives, maintain policies, and oversee governance documents. Your role includes developing staff training, conducting investigations, and guiding risk assessments to meet regulatory expectations. You will partner with Legal, IT, and security teams to embed privacy controls and monitor HIPAA compliance, driving continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to shape privacy practice at scale within a complex healthcare system.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the Privacy Assurance Program and supervise staff
- Execute network-wide privacy initiatives in line with DCPO directives
- Maintain consistent privacy policies, HIPAA manuals, and governance documents
- Collaborate to draft and update privacy policies, Code of Conduct materials, and related docs
- Design and deliver privacy training for staff, faculty, and new hires
- Promote privacy awareness aligned with strategic goals
- Investigate privacy incidents and breaches; maintain incident logs and assist with breach response
- Conduct privacy risk assessments and targeted audits under DCPO oversight
- Identify high-risk areas and propose mitigation strategies; report to leadership and regulators
- Monitor privacy compliance trends and evaluate internal practices
- Prepare documentation for regulatory audits and investigations
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, and cybersecurity to implement privacy controls
- Participate in IT system design with DCPO-guided decisions
- Partner with compliance leads and senior management to drive privacy initiatives
- Represent the Privacy Program in committees and cross-functional projects
- Embed privacy protections in technological systems with IT/IS teams
- Track program metrics and analyze trends in incidents and training outcomes
- Recommend operational improvements for DCPO review
Key requirements
- 7 years of privacy compliance or regulatory management experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (seeEducation)
- Master’s degree in a related field (preferred)
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHCP)
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
