Enthusiastic Operations Director leading a group of manufacturing facilities within a business unit. You will drive profitability, capacity, and throughputs while developing Plant Managers for future growth. You’ll partner on integration of acquisitions and optimize capital, working capital, and customer delivery. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution to elevate safety, quality, and on-time in-full performance across the network.

Responsibilities

Drive profitable growth through financial acumen, budgeting, EBITDA, ROI, and capital management across the plants
Set vision and strategy for Plant Managers; align and execute; integrate acquisitions to maximize value
Manage P&L and costs; balance short-term and long-term needs; evaluate acquisition targets for strategic fit
Lead Lean operating principles; drive safety culture; ensure equipment maintenance and plant audits
Improve OTIF, quality, and customer satisfaction; manage capital projects and capacity expansion
Develop leadership across disciplines and cultures; hire and develop talent; foster a performance-driven organization
Oversee supply chain, inventory control, and potential plant consolidations; support due diligence for M&A
Maintain strong cross-functional collaboration with unions, suppliers, and customers

Key requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or related field; MBA preferred
10-15 years in Manufacturing/Operations Management with continuous and capital-intensive operations
Experience with labor unions collaboration, safety initiatives, and cross-functional exposure
Lean, Total Productive Maintenance, and/or Six Sigma experience
Proven track record of cost savings, continuous improvement, and capital project prioritization
Financial analysis of operational performance and strong P&L management
Ability to operate in a matrix organization with strong communication and networking skills
