Experteer Overview
In this role you will lead and grow a high-performing Medical Outcome Specialists team across geographies, shaping the strategic vision and operating model for Medical Value and Access. You will drive compliance, develop training on payer landscape and health economics, and partner with HEOR to deliver payer-relevant value narratives. You will enable cross-functional collaboration to inform brand strategy, launch planning, and evidence generation, while representing the MOS function to senior leadership. This is a chance to scale a pivotal function that translates evidence into payer-focused impact.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a geographically dispersed MOS team
- Define strategic priorities and operating model for Medical Value and Access
- Establish performance and development frameworks
- Develop payer-focused training and value narratives
- Partner with HEOR on budget impact and cost-effectiveness models
- Oversee creation of AMCP dossiers and P&T materials
- Interface with Medical Affairs and Access/Commercial teams for scientific support
- Provide payer insights to inform brand strategy, launch planning, and evidence generation priorities
- Lead development of interactive value tools for field use
- Cultivate relationships with payer KOLs and formulary decision-makers
- Represent company at payer-focused congresses and advisory boards
- Align MOS activities with MSL engagement for coordinated account coverage
Key requirements
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD/PharmD) with relevant scientific/medical background
- 10+ years in pharmaceutical/biotherapeutics industry
- Prior management experience
- Experience in health outcomes liaison, medical affairs, or market access
- Deep understanding of US payer landscape (MCOs, PBMs, IDNs, ACOs, specialty pharmacies, government payers)
- Expertise in health economics (budget impact, pharmacoeconomics, outcomes research)
- Track record in cross-functional leadership and matrix collaboration
- Strong communication and presentation skills with influencing ability
- Experience with PhRMA, OIG guidelines, and compliance for medical/payer communications
