Director of MDR leads Barracuda’s global SOC and Expert Led team, shaping the detection and response service for customers. You will own incident response operations, mentor a global team, and align MDR service strategy with business goals while ensuring compliance and risk management. You’ll represent Barracuda externally and drive cross-functional collaboration to enhance customer outcomes. This role offers high impact across AMER, EMEA, and APAC with a 24/7 follow-the-sun delivery model.

Responsibilities

Lead global SOC and MDR operations across multiple regions
Design, implement, and refine advanced detection and response technologies and tooling
Own EDR platform management, including policy tuning and playbooks
Chair incident response for customer engagements and communicate with executives
Act as senior escalation point for major service issues and customer engagements
Collaborate with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Support to align roadmaps and onboarding
Represent Barracuda at events and industry forums
Manage vendor contracts and governance for SOC/MDR stack
Develop and enforce SOC policies, runbooks, and regulatory-compliant standards
Lead talent management and 24/7 global service delivery across regions

Key requirements

15–20 years of security experience with bachelor’s or 12–18 years with master’s in security operations, incident response, threat hunting, or equivalent
7–10 years of management experience
CISSP or equivalent (preferred)
CISM for governance expertise (preferred)
Experience in MDR, XDR, EDR, and SOC domains
Strong customer-facing and executive communication skills
