In this FP&A Lead role, you will shape the financial planning and strategic analysis for a rapidly growing biotechnology organization. You will partner with R&D and G&A leaders to align spend with scientific priorities, manage budgets and forecasts, and provide insights for executive decisions. You’ll translate complex clinical and operational data into clear financial narratives for leadership and the board. This role offers visibility, strategic influence, and the chance to drive resource allocation across therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

Provide financial advisory support to R&D and G&A; align spend with scientific priorities and manage clinical trial expense forecasting
Lead budgeting and quarterly forecasting; produce management reports and review budget variances
Identify drivers of variance, perform trend analyses, and discuss risks and opportunities for go/no-go decisions
Support month-end close activities, accruals, and collaboration with accounting
Prepare data for leadership and board meetings; refresh program dashboards and automate reporting
Maintain project tagging and GL alignment; ensure capitalization decisions per policy and ASC 730 guidance
Contribute to long-range strategic planning with scenario analyses for pipeline prioritization and capital allocation
Translate clinical/operational data into clear financial narratives for executives and investors

Key requirements

8+ years FP&A experience in biotech/pharma with leadership responsibility
Industry knowledge in biotechnology, including preclinical/clinical development; small molecule experience preferred
Experience managing multi-entity/cross-border operations, multi-currency budgeting, forecasting, and intercompany accounting
Strong accounting and financial strategy expertise; advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills
Ability to collaborate and influence across diverse stakeholders; strong organizational and detail orientation
Independent, proactive, and able to manage complexity and multi-tasking
Knowledge of capitalization policy and ASC 730 R&D cost guidance
