As Director, Facilities & Operations, you will lead the Durham campus and satellite offices to maximize asset value through strategic facilities management, cost discipline, and infrastructure planning. You will partner with an outsourced alliance, drive cross-functional collaboration, and ensure operational excellence across a global team. You tackle complex challenges in real estate, engineering, and vendor management while prioritizing associate needs. This role provides a meaningful opportunity to shape a scalable, safe, and customer-centric workspace aligned with Fidelity Real Estate’s mission. You will be on-site, on-call, and play a pivotal role in regional programs and risk-informed,
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily facilities operations for multiple locations (Durham campus, Jacksonville, DC) and ~736,000 sq ft
- Lead outsourced facilities management partner to ensure quality, risk mitigation, and contractual compliance
- Steer financial stewardship: approve building expenses, partner with Real Estate Finance to track and control costs
- Develop regional operating and infrastructure capital plans for short and multi-year horizons
- Partner with Real Estate, Project Design and Delivery, and Engineering to align priorities and standards
- Collaborate with Global Security, Enterprise Infrastructure, and Business Resiliency for contingency readiness
- Support Sustainability efforts and regional workstreams with implementable environmental initiatives
- Communicate disruptions and action plans to campus stakeholders
Key requirements
- 10+ years in real estate management with increasing responsibility
- Strong project management, property/asset/facilities management, and leasing/real estate finance experience
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive solutions
- Excellent oral communication and listening skills
- Customer-service focus with relationship-building ability
- Calm under pressure and quick-thinking in emergent situations
- Leading a facilities-focused team and managing day-to-day operations
- On-site 100% with 24x7 on-call expectations and occasional travel
- Experience coordinating with cross-functional/geographically dispersed teams
