As Director of Data Engineering for Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT), you will lead senior technologists to translate client needs into data-driven outcomes. You’ll shape data platform architecture, guide cloud and on-prem hybrid deployments, and drive business opportunities from early sales to delivery. You’ll mentor teams, define data governance and SLAs, and partner with cross-functional leaders to enable scalable, insight-driven transformations for major brands.

Responsibilities

Act as trusted advisor to TMT clients, leveraging data for customer acquisition and engagement during large digital transformations
Evaluate and recommend data platform design patterns and solutions (ETL/ELT/ALT, lambda, kappa architectures)
Define SLAs, SLIs, and SLOs with clients and engineers to enable interactive data experiences
Provide architecture proofs-of-concept and reference implementations across cloud, on-prem, hybrid, and edge data platforms
Partner with leadership to close opportunities and transition to delivery
Represent PS in early sales activities and support proposal development and win strategies
Contribute to agile processes with technical inputs for epics, stories, and tasks
Create and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Helm, and GCDM
Mentor and manage team members

Key requirements

Exceptional data engineering skills with distributed computing background
Experience creating and pursuing new business opportunities in TMT
SQL, DBT, Python (and similar tools)
Proficient in Python, Spark, PySpark, Java, JavaScript, and/or Scala
Data ingestion, validation, and enrichment pipeline design
Cloud-native data platform design focused on streaming/event-driven architectures
Data modeling and querying for relational/NoSQL/time-series/graph databases, data warehouses, data lakes
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake
Data governance expertise in TMT (HIPAA, FHIR) and MDM/entity resolution knowledge
Ability to lead teams through digital ecosystem assessments and future-state vision
Strong client communication, influence, and collaboration skills
Experience with build-vs-buy, hosting, commercial models, BI, analytics
Test automation, data validation, and data lineage frameworks
