In this role you will lead clinical development for Alnylam’s CNS RNAi portfolio, focusing on Alzheimer’s programs. You will work across a matrix of functions to shape development strategies and drive global regulatory progress. You’ll oversee trial conduct, safety, and major submissions, while collaborating with external experts to advance bench-to-bedside programs. This is a high-impact, executive-style position in a fast-paced biotech environment, offering visibility and the chance to influence the direction of CNS therapeutics. Your work will center on delivering clinically meaningful programs that align with our mission to transform rare and common neurological diseases.

Responsibilities

Subject-matter expert for the disease area(s)
Provide strategic leadership for the clinical program
Develop creative yet practical drug development strategies and push for global approvals
Oversee trial conduct and safety
Coordinate with Preclinical, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical Affairs for integrated plans
Ensure timely delivery of timelines and deliverables across Clinical Research and Operations
Supervise major written deliverables and documentation (protocols, ICFs, brochures)
Influence internal and external audiences with high impact communication
Represent the company at external meetings and regulatory interactions

Key requirements

MD with strong research background or MD PhD with demonstrated research and clinical training
Board Certification or specialist training in neurology desirable
3+ years of industry or clinical academic experience
Solid scientific and clinical judgment
Familiarity with clinical research concepts, biostatistics, and regulatory practices
Effective written and oral communication skills
Proven critical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities
Excellent leadership and collaboration in a matrix environment
Comfort in entrepreneurial biotech culture and Alnylam values
