In this role you drive growth with Northrop Grumman by leading a cross-functional team and shaping strategic engagements. You will build strong relationships with Northrop Grumman leaders, develop growth and engagement plans, and guide pursuit processes to expand Mercury’s pipeline and annual orders. You’ll report to the Business Development Leader and work across programs, engineering, and sales to align offerings with customer needs. This position offers high-impact interaction with senior customers and a chance to shape defense electronics opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an integrated, cross-functional team (Programs, Engineering, Advanced Concepts, Sales, Contracts) to advance Northrop Grumman opportunities
  • Develop and execute a detailed engagement and growth strategy for Northrop Grumman
  • Drive executive-level engagements (EXCOMs, trade shows, industry meetings)
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to achieve customer intimacy
  • Identify current and future Northrop Grumman needs and align Mercury products and capabilities
  • Manage and grow the Northrop Grumman annual orders plan and Mercury pipeline
  • Provide quarterly progress updates to Mercury senior leadership on growth plans
  • Influence pursuit outcomes through early gate processes
  • Serve as Voice of the Customer for Mercury with Northrop Grumman leadership
  • Accurately determine budgets and Position to Win strategies
  • Meet KPI targets for pipeline expansion and conversion
  • Travel 50% of the time to engage with customers and events

Key requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic/aerospace engineering with CS or communications concentration
  • 20+ years in relevant defense/USG or aerospace roles (BD, engineering, program mgmt, strategy, or sales)
  • Proven track record in development and execution of capture plans
  • Extensive knowledge and relationships with Northrop Grumman leadership
  • Collaborative leader capable of guiding integrated teams with shared accountability
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially for gate reviews
  • Ability to travel at least 50%
  • Current Secret clearance or ability to obtain within 9 months
  • Solid knowledge of US export controls (ITAR, DOC regulations)
  • US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible for required authorizations
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
  • Preferred: existing Trusted NG relationships; experience in defense electronics business with primes; Top-Secret clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Preferred: experience in BD, capture management, and program management
