In this role you will drive growth with Lockheed Martin by leading cross-functional teams and shaping new business opportunities across Mercury’s portfolios. You’ll partner with capture, sales, engineering, and program management to build strategic relationships and expand the Mercury-Lockheed pipeline. You’ll steer executive engagements and develop detailed growth plans aligned with Mercury’s strategy. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of business development, engineering, and programs with significant visibility and responsibility.

Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional, customer-focused project team across programs, engineering, and sales
- Develop and execute a targeted growth strategy for Lockheed Martin
- Drive executive-level engagements (EXCOMs, trade shows, industry meetings)
- Foster collaborative internal relationships to enhance customer intimacy
- Translate Lockheed Martin needs into Mercury solutions and capabilities
- Lead an integrated team to manage and deliver an annual orders plan for Lockheed Martin
- Grow Mercury’s pipeline with Lockheed Martin through trust and delivery of commitments
- Provide quarterly progress updates on growth plans to Mercury leadership
- Drive early gate processes and pursue strategic opportunities with customers
- Be the Voice of the Customer to Mercury Systems
- Determine budgets and price-to-win targets, ensuring KPI alignment with internal priorities
- Travel approximately 50% to meet with customers and attend events
Key requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic/Aerospace Engineering with CS or Communications Systems concentration
- 20+ years in relevant defense-related roles (business development, engineering, program management, strategy, or sales)
- Extensive experience with Lockheed Martin as supplier/customer/competitor
- Proven ability to lead integrated teams with accountability for results
- Strong understanding of products and technologies to map customer requirements to Mercury solutions
- Proven track record in developing and executing capture plans
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to articulate strategy and value propositions
- Ability to travel 50%+ of the time
- Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance within nine months
- Knowledge of US export controls (ITAR, DoC regulations)
- US citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible for required authorizations
- Active DoD Secret clearance or higher preferred (with Top-Secret as a plus)
