Senior Specialist / Project Manager
Experteer Overview
As an Electrical Designer, you will develop and integrate shipboard electrical systems by creating detailed 3D models, wiring diagrams, and layouts that comply with maritime standards. You will work closely with engineers and other design teams to produce accurate documentation for power, lighting, control, and communication systems on vessels. Proficiency with CAD tools and knowledge of marine electrical systems are essential to navigate regulatory requirements. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to influence ship design and documentation standards in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete design work with minimal supervision while anticipating and mitigating roadblocks
- Apply state-of-the-art solutions to complex problems in electrical design
- Serve as focal point for discussions with external SMEs and ABS surveyors
- Coordinate and facilitate working groups, drive decisions, and define follow-on actions
- Identify training needs and mentor teammates on advanced technical concepts
- Mentor department on advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
- Understand regulatory and contractual requirements and their application in design
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
- Proficiency with CAD tools: AVEVA, Ship Constructor, SolidWorks, NX, 3D AutoCAD or Revit
- Knowledge of marine electrical systems
- Familiarity with ABS, IEEE, IEC standards
- Experience in shipbuilding or marine design environments (desirable)
