As Design Director, you lead frog Netherlands’ multidisciplinary design practice, shaping strategy, culture, and high‑impact engagements. You will represent frog with clients and in the market, driving design excellence and business outcomes. You’ll steer studio strategy, mentor diverse design teams, and work with leadership to grow the practice. This role sits at the intersection of design craft, AI-enabled innovation, and strategic leadership, offering a chance to influence a broad portfolio of products and services.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a diverse design team to foster growth and craft excellence
Set creative direction and ensure design quality across projects, pitches, and strategic initiatives
Act as ambassador for frog with strong presence to inspire others
Develop a compelling vision for design evolution, including AI, adaptive experiences, and data-driven personalization
Contribute to the Netherlands strategy as part of the Leadership Team
Drive studio-wide innovation and adoption of new design methodologies and emerging technologies
Lead high-impact engagements for digital products, platforms, and services that balance aesthetics, usability, and measurable value
Partner with clients to define design visions and strategic roadmaps, elevating design maturity
Guide multidisciplinary teams through full innovation and design lifecycle
Play a central role in business development, shaping proposals and winning strategic pursuits
Identify opportunities to grow frog’s footprint with current and new clients
Define scopes, structure engagements, and safeguard margin while maximizing impact

Key requirements

10+ years of experience in design and digital innovation with leadership experience
Compelling design vision and perspective on AI-driven design
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in consultancy, agency, or product environments
Strong business development skills with a track record of winning strategic engagements
Ability to inspire clients, teams, and executives through storytelling, presence, and thought leadership
Portfolio demonstrating design excellence, strategic impact, and leadership across complex digital programs
