In this role you will design high-performance data platforms across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments, guiding governance, availability, and security. You collaborate with engineering, DevOps and business teams to translate requirements into scalable architectures, while shaping standards and blueprints. You will lead technology evaluations, mentor teams, and drive cost-efficient, compliant database solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role that impacts data reliability, performance, and cloud-native modernization.

Responsibilities
- Design high-performance, resilient database and platform solutions for on-prem, hybrid and cloud environments
- Lead evaluation and selection of technologies aligned with data platform needs
- Provide governance for data availability, integrity, backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies
- Act as trusted advisor on data management best practices, storage optimization and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA)
- Develop and maintain architectural standards, reference models and solution blueprints
- Contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning and cost optimization across storage and databases
- Design cloud-compatible database architectures using Oracle RAC, ExaCC, GoldenGate, Cassandra, RDS, Azure Database, Google Cloud SQL
- Migrate, manage and maintain databases across OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP
- Evaluate and integrate new database technologies including serverless and data warehousing solutions
- Mentor DBAs and developers on database design, backup/recovery, cloud integration and management
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 7 years in database architecture, administration, and platform engineering
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and leadership capabilities
- Strong communication skills with technical and business stakeholders
- Deep experience with Oracle technologies (RAC, ExaCC, GoldenGate) and Apache Cassandra
- Hands-on with cloud-managed services (OCI, AWS Aurora, Azure Cosmos DB, GCP Bigtable)
- Strong observability, monitoring and performance analysis across hybrid and cloud environments
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM) and storage platforms (HPE XP8, NetApp, Pure Storage, vSAN, Ceph)
- Container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Secrets management exposure (HashiCorp Vault, Oracle Key Vault)
