As Manager of Data Engineering, you lead a team building and operating data pipelines, models, and platform infrastructure that power Ring’s analytics, science, and AI initiatives. You own delivery and operational health of the data platform, mentor high-performing engineers, and drive AI-assisted engineering practices across the group. You’ll guide multi-agent solutions to automate common data tasks and partner with BI, applied science, and product teams to turn data needs into roadmaps. This role offers impact through shaping data platforms and AI-enabled workflows at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead delivery and operational health of the data platform and pipelines
- Build and mentor a high-performing data engineering team
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and generative AI tooling
- Develop multi-agent solutions to automate data tasks (pipeline generation, data quality, testing, operations)
- Partner with BI, applied science, and product teams to translate data needs into technical roadmaps
- Contribute to shared platform infrastructure when required
Key requirements
- Experience in engineering team management
- Hands-on contribution to data platform and pipeline delivery in data engineering or closely related teams
- Experience designing/architecting data systems (modeling, pipelines, reliability, scaling)
- Experience building/leading cloud-native data infrastructure (data warehouses, data lakes, event-driven architectures, orchestration)
- Knowledge of SDLC practices (coding standards, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, testing, operational excellence)
- Experience partnering with product management or cross-functional teams to translate business needs into roadmaps
