Experteer Overview

As EU DCE Lead, you own the delivery layer for Optiver’s European data center engineering across Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London. You will lead a team of eight engineers, driving major infrastructure projects from concept through completion and standardizing execution. You’ll align regional operations with the global DCE mandate and manage vendor relationships, delivering high-quality, scalable physical infrastructure. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, global trading environment with meaningful cross-team impact.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 8 data center engineers across 3 locations with day-to-day direction and career development
Own end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure projects (colocation builds, site migrations, capacity expansions)
Drive operational improvement to reduce toil and standardize processes across sites
Coordinate dependencies with Networks, Platform, and Linux teams for integrated outcomes
Align EU DCE operations with the global DCE mandate and collaborate with US/APAC leads
Manage vendor and third-party relationships for physical infrastructure delivery
Prioritize competing demands and articulate trade-offs to stakeholders
Foster a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement within the team

Key requirements

Experience leading a technical infrastructure team
Understanding of physical infrastructure; fast to learn new technical domains if needed
Familiarity with project delivery in physical infrastructure environments
Ability to engage credibly with network, systems, and platform teams
Proven track record leading people through delivery
Independent worker with strong prioritization and communication skills
Comfort with ambiguity and competing stakeholder demands
Willingness to travel within Europe to support regional data center operations
