Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role, you will manage daily FTZ operations to ensure CBP compliance and accurate zone inventory. You will collaborate with warehouse, brokerage, and internal teams to process entries, admissions, and transfers while maintaining audit-ready records. You will identify compliance risks, resolve documentation discrepancies, and support audits and continuous improvement of processes. This position offers the opportunity to shape FTZ performance and regulatory adherence in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer FTZ operations to ensure CBP compliance
  • Review and verify customs documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate FTZ admissions, transfers, exports, and zone-to-zone movements
  • Maintain and audit FTZ inventory records and control processes
  • Monitor discrepancies, investigate exceptions, and implement corrective actions
  • Verify import documentation including origin, IOR, valuation, and tariff classification
  • Communicate with customers, overseas partners, brokers, and internal teams to resolve issues
  • Prepare reports on FTZ inventory, customs activities, and performance
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations, brokerage teams, and other departments for efficient processing
  • Identify compliance risks and escalate as needed; support audits and regulatory changes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in customs brokerage, import/export compliance, FTZ operations, or international logistics
  • Strong knowledge of CBP regulations and FTZ requirements
  • Experience administering FTZ inventory control systems, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Experience working with customs brokers, government agencies, and regulatory authorities
  • Understanding of import documentation, origin, IOR, valuation, tariff classification, and trade documents
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication across organizational levels
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; FTZ inventory management systems experience is a plus
  • Experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, contract logistics, or international supply chain operations preferred
  • Bilingual English and Spanish or another language is a plus
