In this role, you lead the Government Risk team within Commercial Banking Risk to oversee credit approvals, portfolio health, and complex structuring for municipal clients. You will mentor professionals, set risk direction, and ensure compliance with internal policies in a fast-paced environment. Your work shapes credit decisions, risk ratings, and negotiations across bilateral, syndicated, and institutional loans. Responsibilities

Lead credit analysis, financial modeling, and structuring of new transactions and portfolio management
Develop and communicate independent credit views to stakeholders and senior leadership
Oversee negotiations and legal documentation for bilateral, syndicated, and institutional loan structures
Assess risks and mitigants, manage renewals and amendments, and maintain credit reporting metrics
Ensure accurate, forward-looking risk ratings and proactively manage deteriorating credits
Serve as an expert on structuring, credit policy, and municipal risk issues
Mentor and coach team members and contribute to organizational improvement

Key requirements

Bachelor's degree
Completion of major bank credit training or equivalent experience; strong understanding of bank credit policies
Minimum 10 years' experience in commercial banking/lending with emphasis in municipal sector
Superior credit, accounting, corporate finance, analytical, and financial modeling skills
Solid knowledge of bond and loan documentation and complex credit agreements including Master Trust Indentures and Bond Resolutions
Strong interpersonal, communication, and attention to detail skills
Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and foster teamwork
Quick learner with intellectual curiosity and initiative; able to perform under pressure
